The SSA Executive Coaching Program
The SSA Executive Coaching Program will ensure a positive start for each Alabama superintendent by offering a coach during the first year of superintendency.
SSA coaching is a professional alliance between a new superintendent and a successful veteran superintendent.
School Superintendents of Alabama has a cadre of trained coaches available for systems as part of their SSA membership. All Coaches have been trained in the Corporate Coach U (CCU) model to effectively work with superintedents during this first year. CCU is a leading global provider of customized corporate coach training and corporate coaching services.

Veteran superintendents attend training to be certified as
Executive Coaches for working with new superintendents.”

WHEN will the SSA coach provide this help?
SSA Strategic Planning Meetings are usually held from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. following each conference. Special assistance will be given prior to system personnel action in May and prior to submission of SDE data in the fall that ultimately impacts the distict budget. Coaches will make a minimum of eight contacts during the year. At least four contacts will be personal meetings.
