Welcome to SSA Legislative Alerts and E-Brief

Keeping you informed of legislative news and information that’s important to you is a priority for School Superintendents of Alabama (SSA). That’s why we’re pleased to introduce SSA Alerts, powered by SchoolCast. This will allow SSA to contact you in a quick and efficient manner when critical situations arise in the Alabama Legislature. You will receive action alerts and voice messages to your phone(s) in addition to your e-mail.

Your Participation Is the Key to Our Success! This system will not be effective unless you provide us with some very important information.The key factor is our ability to immediately reach you during the legislative session when urgent communication is required.As a result, we are asking you to log-in to the SchoolCast program to provide us with your most direct contact information. You will then receive a user name and password. Keep this information in a safe place. You will need to use it to subscribe to the SSA e-Brief.

First...sign up for Alerts:

1.To access your SSA Alert dashboard, go to the following secure Web site:https://www.myschoolcast.com/. You have been assigned a unique User ID & Initial Password to access the Dashboard.

2. Enter your User Name:  (You will need to refer to the information sent to you in a previous email.  If you do not have this information, please call Diane Black at 334-262-0014.)

(NOTE: Please change your user name to something you can easily remember.)

3. Enter your Password: (You will need to refer to the information sent to you in a previous email.  If you do not have this information, please call Diane Black at 334-262-0014.)

(NOTE: You will be asked to change your password when you first log in to the system. As with the user name, please change your password to something you can easily remember.)

4. Enter Your Contact Phone Numbers. Cell phones provide the most effective means by which SSA can contact you. Once you log onto the system dashboard, you have the flexibility to add other phone numbers and e-mail addresses to receive alerts. Depending on your cellular provider and plan, a small charge may apply to text messages. Once registered, you may opt out of the text message alerts, but still be able to receive voice alerts.

E-brief is a smart phone application that works with SchoolCast to deliver messages right to your Apple iPhone or BlackBerry. We’ve already pre-categorized alerts into major “themes” (SSA Messages, Legislative Updates, Talking Points, Key Bills, Legislative Platform, Etc.). Within our themes, we’ll send appropriate documents, spreadsheets, charts, video and audio files – everything you need to stay informed during the upcoming legislative session and beyond.

There are two steps involved:  Installation and Registration.

1. Installation

To install the application, open one of the following links on YOUR SPECIFIC SMART PHONE MODEL:

2. Registration

To register for E-Brief, you’ll need your username and password sent to you as part of our “Welcome” letter. You’ll only need to enter this information once to verify you as an SSA Member and register E-brief on your smart phone. If you do not have this information, please contact Diane Black at 334-262-0014.

 

SSA Alert is a secure system and will not send advertising or spam messages. It will only be used when we need to get critical, time-sensitive information to you. Your user dashboard is a private and secure Web page where you can update and maintain your contact information as well as review all text alerts, voice messages and e-mails sent from the system.
